About Us

St. Fiachra’s Junior school is located in Beaumont, Dublin 5. It is a mixed co-educational school with 632 students aged between 4 and 8 years of age.

The children in the school come generally from the greater Beaumont area which would be termed as a middle class area. There is also an increasing number of foreign nationals in the school , whos parents for the most part work in Beaumont Hospital on yearly contracts.

The school building consists of a main one-storey building which has 16 classrooms ,a P.E hall, staff room and offices. There is a two storey building which has 5 classrooms and a shared staffroom and we also have two sets of pre-fabs which hold 2 classrooms and all the learning support ,resource and language rooms.

The school is very well equiped with interactive whiteboards and laptops in all the classes. We have a huge array of equipment for P.E that the biggest problem we have in this regard is finding space to store it all where it is accessible for use. Our PE co-ordinator Fidelma Sorensen is responsible for buying and maintaining all this equipment and it is to her that credit is due for the wonderful variety and organisation of these resources. There is also a wonderful supply of math resources, Science equipment ,art supplies and infant resources in every room as appropriate and again thanks is due to the various teachers who between them organise and maintain them from year to year.

The school shares it’s grounds with St. Fiachra’s Senior School, with whom there exists a strong working relationship. Adjacent also is the Parish church , which was built in 1979 and the pastoral centre.
